Q: What should I wear?

A:  I guess we'd consider the Saturday evening festivities dressy-casual.  Everything else is extremely casual.  Be yourselves and be comfortable.  We need you to go the duration!

Q:  What's the weather going to be?

A: Your guess is as good as ours!  In January we've seen weather in the teens and weather in the seventies.  It'll likely be somewhere in between.  Major wedding festivities are planned to be indoors so weather will not be a factor.  Southerners - you'll want to bring some warm clothes.  Northerners - break out the shorts and flip flops!

Q: The party starts Friday for everyone?

A: Heck yeah!  An all-play for those who can join us for more than just the Saturday evening ceremony/reception.  More time for all the coolest peeps we know to hang with each other.

Q: How late will the reception-proper go on Saturday night?

A: We can celebrate at Smithfield Center until 11:30pm; the building must be cleaned up and vacated by 1am (All food clean-up will be handled by catering staff, we'll be asking for a bit of help to get decorations packed up).  After that...we shall see!

Q: Are you really serious about no gifts?

A: Yup.  Really.  Serious.  Make us a pie or supply us some beverages or sing us a song.  Please don't buy us any STUFF!

Q: You'll be making our lodging reservations?

A: Yes - given that we have numerous family and friend groups that will  want to be in the same place, we think it will make things much easier to have us coordinate.  We have spaces reserved, so no chance for anyone to be without a spot!

Q: What about kids?

A: Kids are people, too!  There's no one-size fits all answer, so chat us up about your needs (indicate in RSVP question/comment block and we'll go from there).

Q: What if want to extend my VA visit and see some sights?

A: We'd love to be able to offer to host you overnight, but the reality is that this just wouldn't be possible at wedding time (sure hoping some long-distance friends will be able to make a visit to our house before or after the wedding festivities).  HOWEVER, numerous local friends have offered beautiful guest rooms in their homes to allow you to stay some extra days without spending a fortune.  Let us know - we'd love to introduce you to friends you haven't met yet!
